R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert J. Lopez was named the 2018-2019 Teacher of |
|
|
the Year at the Emma Frey Disciplinary Alternative Education |
|
|
Program in San Antonio; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A strong education is vital for young Texans to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those individuals who |
|
|
dedicate their careers to teaching are helping to ensure that the |
|
|
future of the Lone Star State rests in capable hands; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Mr. Lopez earned a |
|
|
bachelor's degree from Bethel College in Kansas, which he attended |
|
|
on a football scholarship; before joining the faculty at Emma Frey |
|
|
DAEP in the Edgewood Independent School District, he taught at |
|
|
Truman Elementary and Wrenn Middle School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert Lopez exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert J. Lopez on his selection as |
|
|
the 2018-2019 Teacher of the Year for Emma Frey DAEP and extend to |
|
|
him sincere best wishes for continued success with his important |
|
|
work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Lopez as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
