R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Emma Ruth Turner of Dallas on February 21, 2021, at the |
|
age of 89; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Royce Kimble and Lillie Hines, Emma |
|
Turner was born in Waco on December 29, 1931; she was joined in |
|
matrimony to Bradford Turner, and she became the proud mother of two |
|
children, Reginald and Marsha; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Turner enjoyed a successful career with the |
|
City of Dallas Health Department for nearly three and a half |
|
decades, as well as at Parkland Memorial Hospital for several |
|
years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Active in her community, Mrs. Turner was a valued |
|
member of the Washington-Lincoln Alumni Association of Dallas and |
|
the National Council of Negro Women, and she worked tirelessly on a |
|
wide range of projects in the West Dallas community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Emma Turner |
|
will remember the way she touched their lives with her optimism, |
|
compassion, and dedication to helping others, and she will forever |
|
hold a treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Emma Ruth Turner and |
|
extend sincere condolences to all who mourn her passing; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Emma |
|
Turner. |
