R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Donald Eugene Schnebly retired as district attorney |
|
of Parker County on December 31, 2020, drawing to a close a |
|
distinguished career in the law that has spanned three and a half |
|
decades; and |
|
WHEREAS, Donald Schnebly earned his bachelor's degree from |
|
Mount Vernon Nazarene College in 1977 and his law degree from The |
|
University of Texas in 1984, and after passing the State Bar of |
|
Texas in 1985, he began practicing law in Weatherford; he first |
|
joined Parker County as assistant county attorney for two years, |
|
and he went on to serve as assistant district attorney for a decade; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Elected as Parker County district attorney in 1997, |
|
Mr. Schnebly has tried hundreds of cases before juries during a |
|
period of tremendous growth in the county; over the course of his |
|
exemplary 24-year tenure as DA, he has earned the respect of both |
|
the public and his peers in the legal profession; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Schnebly has enjoyed the |
|
love and support of his wife, Erna, and his family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Donald Schnebly's dedication, skill, and integrity |
|
have greatly benefited the citizens of Parker County, and he may |
|
indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he embarks upon |
|
the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Donald Eugene Schnebly on his |
|
retirement as district attorney of Parker County and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Schnebly as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
