R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Charles Demmings of Horn High School in Mesquite |
|
|
achieved great distinction by winning the bronze medal in the 6A |
|
|
triple jump at the 2021 University Interscholastic League Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in |
|
|
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 8, Mr. Demmings |
|
|
turned in a notable performance, recording a jump of 48 feet, 4.5 |
|
|
inches, to claim third place in the event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Charles Demmings has ably |
|
|
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Charles Demmings on his |
|
|
bronze-medal finish in the 6A triple jump at the 2021 UIL Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Demmings as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
