R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The wrestlers from Tascosa High School in Amarillo
  earned great distinction with their performances at the 2021
  University Interscholastic League Wrestling State Tournament; and
         WHEREAS, After achieving success throughout the regular
  season, the Rebels excelled at the Region 1-5A tournament; the
  Tascosa girls' team finished third overall, with Elsaiah Cruz
  winning an individual gold medal and Zurri Zamora and Miliyah
  Pacheco each contributing second-place finishes; for the Tascosa
  boys, Andres Suarez qualified for state with a silver-medal
  showing; and
         WHEREAS, On April 23 and 24, the Tascosa wrestlers joined the
  other top performers in Texas at the state meet in Cypress; the
  Rebels claimed the bronze medal in the 5A girls' team competition
  with a total of 59 points; Ms. Zamora and Ms. Pacheco both earned
  silver medals for their respective efforts in the 95-pound and
  102-pound divisions, and Ms. Cruz finished fifth at 128 pounds; in
  the 5A boys' events, Mr. Suarez clinched a bronze medal in his
  145-pound class; and
         WHEREAS, The Rebels received valuable contributions over the
  course of the season from each member of the team rosters; these
  determined student-athletes were ably guided by head coach Joe
  Stafford, boys' assistant coach Nicholas Herrmann, and girls'
  assistant coach Donna Welch; and
         WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering resolve to give
  their very best, the Tascosa Rebels have earned the admiration of
  their fellow students and their many community supporters, and they
  may indeed reflect with pride on their memorable accomplishments;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the competitors from Tascosa High
  School on their outstanding performances at the 2021 UIL Wrestling
  State Tournament and extend to all those associated with the boys'
  and girls' wrestling teams sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Rebels as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
