R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, High school graduation is one of life's pivotal
  milestones, and Ruby Shear is participating in that joyful occasion
  with her graduation from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas on
  June 12, 2021; and
         WHEREAS, A high achiever, Ms. Shear completed the Woodrow
  STEM Academy program, and she is a member of the National Honor
  Society, as well as a Woodrow Wildcats varsity cheerleader; through
  her experience as a summer camp counselor for children with special
  needs, she developed an interest in studying early childhood
  education, and she is planning to attend the University of
  Wisconsin-Madison; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Shear has further distinguished herself by
  earning a Silver Award from the Girl Scouts for creating a butterfly
  garden near White Rock Lake; in addition, she has volunteered at
  several senior centers and has participated in beach cleanups; and
         WHEREAS, Earning a high school diploma requires hard work and
  dedication, and Ms. Shear can reflect with pride on the
  perseverance she has demonstrated in the pursuit of her goals; and
         WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this
  outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join her family and
  friends in recognizing her as she embarks on a future bright with
  promise; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ruby Shear on the occasion of her
  high school graduation and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Shear as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
