R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A life of meaningful service drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Collin County Detention Officer Joseph Francis Quillen |
|
Jr., on December 1, 2020, at the age of 51; and |
|
WHEREAS, Joe Quillen was born on August 27, 1969, in Chester, |
|
Pennsylvania; answering his nation's call to duty, he served in the |
|
U.S. Navy for six years; in the course of his career in law |
|
enforcement, he worked as a detention officer with the Collin |
|
County Sheriff's Office for 19 years and held the master jailer |
|
certification and license; highly respected by his peers, he was an |
|
influential mentor to numerous members of the agency; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Officer Quillen enjoyed the |
|
love and support of his wife, Melissa, and he took great pride in |
|
his three sons; his family, friends, and colleagues appreciated his |
|
vibrant personality and sarcastic sense of humor, as well as his |
|
abiding kindness and compassion; and |
|
WHEREAS, A caring husband and father and a consummate law |
|
enforcement professional, Joe Quillen made a meaningful difference |
|
in the lives of his loved ones and fellow citizens alike, and he |
|
will forever be a source of inspiration to those he leaves behind; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Officer Joseph |
|
Francis Quillen Jr. and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn |
|
his passing; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Officer Joe |
|
Quillen. |
