R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Zachary Jacobus, a junior at R. L. Paschal High |
|
|
School in Fort Worth, earned great distinction at the 2021 |
|
|
University Interscholastic League Academic State Meet, held from |
|
|
April 30 to May 1; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Competing against some of the brightest students in |
|
|
the Lone Star State, Mr. Jacobus won a gold medal for his |
|
|
outstanding performance in 6A chemistry; he scored 14 points more |
|
|
than his closest competitor to capture the state title, becoming |
|
|
the first academic state champion from the Fort Worth Independent |
|
|
School District in five years; this exemplary student prepared for |
|
|
the competition under the guidance of science team coach Andrew |
|
|
Brinker; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his hard work and commitment to excellence, |
|
|
Zachary Jacobus has distinguished himself in the state's premier |
|
|
high school academic competition, and his accomplishments are a |
|
|
source of great pride to his school and community; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Zachary Jacobus on earning the gold |
|
|
medal in chemistry at the 2021 UIL 6A Academic State Meet and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Jacobus as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
