R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Evelyn Pate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas |
|
|
achieved great distinction with her second-place finish at the 2021 |
|
|
Texas Music Educators Association 5A All-Area audition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each fall in Texas, more than 70,000 high school |
|
|
musicians from across the state audition in one of 33 TMEA regions, |
|
|
vying to move on to the area round and into All-State ensemble |
|
|
competitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A French horn player, Ms. Pate enjoyed tremendous |
|
|
success during her senior year at Woodrow Wilson, excelling at the |
|
|
Region 20 contest to advance to the 5A Area contest for the fourth |
|
|
consecutive year; there, she earned the ranking of second chair; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through countless hours of preparation and an |
|
|
unwavering commitment to excellence, Evelyn Pate has brought credit |
|
|
to her school, and she may indeed take pride in her accomplishments; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Evelyn Pate on being ranked as |
|
|
second chair at the TMEA 5A All-Area audition and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Pate as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
