R E S O L U T I O N

|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 87th Legislature, Regular Session, 2021, That House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |
|
|
resolve the differences on House Bill 1281 (relating to the |
|
|
operation of golf carts in certain areas) to consider and take |
|
|
action on the following matter: |
|
|
House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(4), is suspended to permit the |
|
|
committee to add text on a matter not included in either the house |
|
|
or senate version of the bill in proposed SECTION 3 of the bill by |
|
|
amending Section 551.404(c), Transportation Code, to read as |
|
|
follows: |
|
|
(c) Subsection (b) applies only to a county that: |
|
|
(1) borders or contains a portion of the Red River; or |
|
|
(2) [borders or contains a portion of the Guadalupe |
|
|
River and contains a part of a barrier island that] borders the Gulf |
|
|
of Mexico and has a population of less than 500,000[; or |
|
|
[(3) is adjacent to a county described by Subdivision |
|
|
(2) and: |
|
|
[(A) has a population of less than 37,000; and |
|
|
[(B) contains a part of a barrier island or |
|
|
peninsula that borders the Gulf of Mexico]. |
|
|
Explanation: This change is necessary to authorize certain |
|
|
counties to allow the operation of a golf cart on certain highways. |
