A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the purchase of iron and steel products made in the |
|
|
United States for certain projects by public institutions of higher |
|
|
education. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 2252.201(1), Government Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
(1) "Governmental entity" means this state or a board, |
|
|
commission, department, office, or other agency in the executive |
|
|
branch of state government, including an institution of higher |
|
|
education as defined by Section 61.003, Education Code. The term |
|
|
does not include a political subdivision. |
|
|
SECTION 2. The changes in law made by this Act apply only to |
|
|
bid documents submitted or contracts entered into on or after the |
|
|
effective date of this Act. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
