A JOINT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
proposing a constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right to life |
|
|
of unborn children. |
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 19, Article I, Texas Constitution, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 19. (a) No citizen of this State shall be deprived of |
|
|
life, liberty, property, privileges or immunities, or in any manner |
|
|
disfranchised, except by the due course of the law of the land. |
|
|
(b) The protections of this section with regard to the right |
|
|
to life apply to an unborn child beginning at fertilization. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This proposed constitutional amendment shall be |
|
|
submitted to the voters at an election to be held November 2, 2021. |
|
|
The ballot shall be printed to provide for voting for or against the |
|
|
proposition: "The constitutional amendment guaranteeing the right |
|
|
to life of unborn children." |
