SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 355
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Vivian Louise Homesley Wood
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors and
  commemorates the life of Vivian Louise Homesley Wood, an esteemed
  resident of the Georgetown community, who died April 14, 2021, at
  the age of 77; and
         WHEREAS, A lifelong Texan, Vivian Homesley was born in San
  Saba on June 12, 1943; she grew up in Llano, and she graduated
  from Llano High School in 1961; and
         WHEREAS, Vivian married Leo Wood in San Saba on August 12,
  1961, and they later moved to Georgetown; they were blessed with
  three sons, Eric, Owen, and John, and their two grandchildren and
  great-granddaughter enriched her life immeasurably; and
         WHEREAS, A dedicated public servant, Mrs. Wood enjoyed a
  17-year career with the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, and she
  served as the chamber's executive director for many years; she
  went on to work at the Texas Private Industry Council, and in
  1994, she was elected Williamson County treasurer, a position she
  held for 20 years; she served in leadership roles for the County
  Treasurers' Association of Texas, and in 2004, she was named the
  Texas Outstanding County Treasurer; and
         WHEREAS, Admired for her kindness, her love for family and
  friends, and her firmly grounded spirit, Vivian Wood was a
  beloved member of the community; she leaves behind memories that
  will long be cherished by all who were privileged to share in her
  life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 87th
  Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
  family of Vivian Louise Homesley Wood; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Vivian Wood.
