No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would allow protective orders that are issued to prohibit an offense motivated by bias or prejudice to be effective for any length of time up to the duration of the lives of the parties, or until the second anniversary of the date of issuance, if no period is stated in the order.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
