No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

The bill would amend the Government Code relating to the right of landowners to file complaints with the Texas Real Estate Commission against certain entities regarding alleged misconduct by the entities while exercising eminent domain authority and to the creation of an ombudsman office for landowners. Based on information provided by the Texas Real Estate Commission and the Office of the Attorney General, it is assumed that the duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be accomplished utilizing existing resources.
