No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill provides that, in a jury trial in a suit affecting the parent-child relationship, a party is entitled to a verdict by jury and the court may not contravene a jury verdict on the issues of the determination of whether to impose a restriction on the geographic area in which a sole managing conservator may designate the child's primary residence and, if the restriction is imposed, the determination of the geographic area within which the sole managing conservator must designate the child's primary residence.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
