No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Estates Code to designate charges for electrical services provided to a person as critical care for their last illness as a Class 1 claim against their estate. A personal representative for the estate must pay Class 1 claims up to $15,000 prior to paying other claims against the estate.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
