IN RE: |
HB1548 by Bell, Cecil (Relating to the civil liability of certain businesses in connection with allowing concealed handguns on the business premises.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to grant certain immunity from civil liability to a person with control over the premises of a business who allows entry on the premises by a licensed handgun holder with a concealed handgun. Under the bill's provisions, the lack of oral or written communication that would constitute notice for purposes of trespass by a license holder with a concealed handgun is sufficient to permit entry on the premises.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
