IN RE:
HB1776 by Bell, Keith (Relating to the inclusion of an elective course on the founding principles of the United States in the curriculum for public high school students and the posting of the founding documents of the United States in public school buildings.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would require each school board to "permit and encourage" the posting of a copy of the founding documents of the United States. The bill would also require each local education agency (LEA) to offer a high school elective course on the founding principles of the United States.
This analysis assumes that any costs could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Education Agency, LEAs could see increased costs associated with training teachers on the founding principles course and with posting the founding documents.
