IN RE:
HB2331 by Cortez (Relating to procedures governing declared disasters for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code as it relates to declared disasters for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The bill would establish an advisory board to provide TDCJ with an emergency response plan and update the recommendations annually. According to the Health and Human Services Commission, TDCJ, and the Board of Pardons and Paroles, the costs associated with the bill's provisions could be absorbed using existing resources.
This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
