Honorable Harold V. Dutton, Jr., Chair, House Committee on Public Education
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
HB2391 by Dominguez (relating to the methods by which students may be admitted to public schools and the disclosure of information regarding public school admission methods.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to the use of weighted lotteries for student admission to public schools or for student transfers within a school district could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
Districts and charter schools may need to update their local policies should they elect to implement the weighted enrollment policies.
