No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill adds a new section to Civil Practice and Remedies Code Chapter 38, which relates to attorney's fees, providing that a person may recover reasonable attorney's fees from an individual, corporation, or other entity as compensatory damages for breach of a construction contract.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration and Secretary of State, no significant fiscal impact to the state or the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
