FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
Revision 1

March 31, 2021

TO:
Honorable James White, Chair, House Committee on Homeland Security & Public Safety

FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board

IN RE:
HB2555 by Neave (relating to evidence to be included and tracked in the statewide electronic tracking system maintained for evidence of a sexual assault or other sex offense and to noncompliance with requirements imposed with respect to that evidence.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted

No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.

It is assumed that the costs associated with the bill's provisions relating to evidence included and tracked in the statewide electronic tracking system maintained for evidence of a sexual assault or other sex offense, and to noncompliance with requirements imposed with respect to that evidence, could be absorbed using existing resources.

This analysis assumes the provisions of the bill would not result in a significant impact on state correctional populations or on the demand for state correctional resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
