The bill would amend the Local Government Code to authorize a county civil service commission to adopt rules to allow a sheriff's deputy to file an appeal of certain employment disciplinary actions with an independent hearing examiner instead of the county's civil service commission.
According to the Office of Court Administration (OCA), no significant fiscal impact to the State court system is anticipated.
