IN RE: |
HB3162 by Martinez (Relating to a certificate of merit in certain actions against certain licensed or registered professionals.), As Introduced |
The bill would amend the Civil Practice and Remedies Code to allow governmental entities to file a lawsuit or arbitration without an affidavit if the dispute arises from a design-build project - a project in which a single firm is retained to provide both design and construction services.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
