No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require all judges, associate judges, and magistrates who are not exempt from these requirements to receive at least one hour of judicial training dedicated to the dynamics and effects of being a victim of family violence as part of the currently required five hours of family violence training during each additional term of office or four years of service. The bill would also require an additional two hours of training dedicated to the dynamics and effects of being a victim of family violence every two years for judges of courts having primary responsibility for or giving preference to family law or family violence matters.
Based on information provided by the Office of Court Administration, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated as a result from implementing the provisions of the bill.
