No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Election Code to require the secretary of state to send a notice of a voter having been disqualified for jury service because the voter is found to not be a resident of the county in which the voter is registered to vote to the attorney general.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require the clerk of a court to send to the county or district attorney or the attorney general a copy of the list of persons excused or disqualified from jury service because of citizenship.
The bill would amend the Government Code to require the clerk of a court to send to the county voter registrar, the secretary of state, and the county or district attorney or the attorney general a copy of the list of persons excused or disqualified from jury service because the persons do not reside in the county.
Based on the analysis of the Office of Court Administration, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Secretary of State, it is assumed that duties and responsibilities associated with implementing the bill could be accomplished utilizing available resources. In addition, no significant fiscal impact to the state court system is anticipated with the implementation of the bill.
