FISCAL NOTE, 87TH LEGISLATIVE REGULAR SESSION
April 14, 2021
TO:
Honorable Joan Huffman, Chair, Senate Committee on Jurisprudence
FROM:
Jerry McGinty, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE:
SB2212 by West (Relating to the duty of a peace officer to request and render aid for an injured person.), As Introduced
No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated.
The bill would amend the Code of Criminal Procedure to require an on-duty peace officer to request emergency medical services and render aid for an injured person to the extent of the officer's skill and training unless doing so would expose the officer or another person to a risk of bodily injury.
It is assumed that any related costs could be absorbed using existing resources.
Local Government Impact
The fiscal implications of the bill cannot be determined at this time.
