No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated, other than the cost of publication.
The cost to the state for publication of the resolution is $178,333.
The bill would propose an amendment to the Texas Constitution relating to absentee voting.
According to the Secretary of State, the cost of the bill would be limited to the fiscal impact associated with the constitutional amendment election if this amendment were placed on the ballot.
According to the Office of the Attorney General (OAG), any legal work resulting from the passage of this bill could reasonably be absorbed with the positions currently budgeted. There would be no fiscal impact to OAG as a result of this bill.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
