Pursuant to a notice posted on May 17, 2021, the House Committee on International Relations & Economic Development met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Button, at 2:35 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Button; Morales, Christina; Beckley; Bell, Cecil; Metcalf; and Ordaz Perez.

 

A quorum was present.

 

 

SB 2181

 

The chair laid out SB 2181, the companion to HB 1048.

 

The chair offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

Representative Morales, Christina moved that SB 2181, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Button; Morales, Christina; Beckley; Bell, Cecil; Hunter; Metcalf; Ordaz Perez (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Canales; Larson (2).
