Pursuant to a notice posted on October 5, 2021, the House Committee on Constitutional Rights & Remedies, Select met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Ashby, at 11:04 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Ashby; Clardy; Geren; Jetton; Johnson, Ann; Klick; Lozano; Moody; Shaheen; and White.

 

A quorum was present.

HB 25

 

The chair laid out HB 25.

 

The chair recognized Representative Swanson to explain HB 25.

The chair recognized Representative Swanson to close on HB 25.

 

Representative Moody offered an amendment to the measure.

 

The chair recognized Representative Moody to explain the amendment.

 

The amendment was withdrawn.

The chair moved that HB 25, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Ashby; Clardy; Jetton; Klick; Landgraf; Lozano; Shaheen; White (8).

 

Nays:                           Representatives Thompson, Senfronia; Johnson, Ann; Moody; Neave (4).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Bucy; Geren; Longoria (3).

 

At 9:23 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
