Pursuant to a notice posted on May 17, 2021, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Cain, at 9:09 a.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Cain; González, Jessica; Beckley; Bucy; Clardy; Jetton; and Schofield.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

 

The chair directed that the May 7, 2021 minutes for the House Committee on Elections be corrected. The corrected minutes were authorized without objection.

 

SB 1761

 

The chair laid out SB 1761.

 

Representative Bucy moved that SB 1761, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Cain; González, Jessica; Beckley; Bucy; Clardy; Jetton; Schofield (7).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representatives Fierro; Swanson (2).

 

SB 1112

 

The chair laid out SB 1112 as pending business.

 

Representative Schofield moved that SB 1112, without amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion failed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Cain; Clardy; Jetton; Schofield (4).

 

Nays:                           Representatives González, Jessica; Beckley; Bucy (3).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).
