Pursuant to a notice posted on October 7, 2021, the House Committee on Human Services met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative Frank, at 3:21 p.m.

 

The committee met to consider efforts of the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) and the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) to remedy the rising numbers of Children Without Placement (CWOP) and the impact of children, including unaccompanied minors, crossing the Texas-Mexico border on the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS)child protective services programs.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Frank; Hinojosa; Hull; Klick; Meza; Noble; and Shaheen.
