Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 18, 2021, the House Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues met in a formal meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative Neave, at 12:32 p.m.

 

The initial quorum call was answered as follows: Representatives Neave; Swanson; Cook; Frank; Leach; Talarico; Vasut; and Wu.

 

A quorum was present.

 


 

SB 185

 

The chair laid out SB 185.

 

Representative Vasut moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure failed to be reported from committee.  The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.

 

Representative Cook offered a complete committee substitute.

 

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

 

Representative Wu moved that SB 185, as substituted, be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following record vote:

 

Ayes:                           Representatives Neave; Swanson; Cook; Frank; Leach; Talarico; Vasut; Wu (8).

 

Nays:                           None (0).

 

Present, Not Voting:   None (0).

 

Absent:                        Representative Ramos (1).

 

At 12:34 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
