Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Education was held on Saturday, May 22, 2021, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.012, at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 7:50 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted: The following members arrived after the roll was called: Senator Schwertner.

Senator Powell moved that the adopted committee amendment be rolled into the proposed committee substitute to create a new committee substitute and that the new committee substitute be adopted. Without objection, it was so ordered.

Senator Powell moved that HB 2681 be reported to the Senate with the recommendation that it do not pass, but that the new committee substitute adopted in lieu thereof do pass and be printed.
