Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Future of College Sports in Texas, Select was held on Monday, August 2, 2021, in the Capitol Extension, Room E1.036, at Austin, Texas.

The Chair called the meeting to order at 1:00 PM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

Senator Nelson and members of the Committee made opening remarks.

 

Senator Nelson laid out the Committee Rules and moved adoption.  Without objection, it was so ordered.

 

Invited testimony was heard from the following witnesses:

Senator Creighton assumed the chair.

 

Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

Senator Creighton assumed the chair.

 

Senator Nelson resumed the chair.

 

Witnesses who testified are shown on the attached list.

 

The Chair moved that testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.

 

There being no further business, at 7:34 PM Senator Nelson moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
