The chair called the meeting to order at 10:02 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:
Other Senators attending: Sen. Carol Alvarado.
The Chair laid out the following Committee interim charge: Automobile Parts Theft (Including Catalytic Converters): Review the effect of House Bill 4110 (87th Legislature), relating to the registration of metal recycling, and related catalytic converter theft legislation passed by the 87th Legislature. Determine what actions are needed to aid law enforcement and stop catalytic converter theft and its related violence.
Witnesses testifying and registering on the issue are shown on the attached list.
The Chair moved that the public testimony be closed; without objection, it was so ordered.
There being no further business, at 12:53 PM Senator Whitmire moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
