Pursuant to a notice posted in accordance with Senate Rule 11.10 and 11.18, a public hearing of the Senate Committee on Health & Human Services was held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in the Betty King Committee Room at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 9:07 AM. There being a quorum present, the following business was transacted:

 

The following members arrived after the roll was called:

The chair called the following invited witnesses to provide testimony (see attached witness list) on the following agenda items:

 

Staffing in Texas hospitals; current trends in COVID-19 hospitalizations and fatalities data and its relation to capacity; and the current need for medical equipment.

 

There being no further business, at 2:00 PM Senator Kolkhorst moved that the Committee stand recessed subject to the call of the chair. Without objection, it was so ordered.
