NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

To protect the health and safety of members, staff and the public, the Senate Finance Committee (SFC) will strictly follow all Senate rules relating to the pandemic, including the requirement for a negative COVID test to enter the hearing room.

 

Anyone wishing to provide oral public testimony must register in E1.028 by noon or upon recess of the Committee hearing, whichever may come first.  Oral testimony is limited to 3 minutes. If providing written testimony, bring 20 copies, with your name on each copy, to E1.028. All written testimony will be distributed to the Committee Members after the hearing. Those registering a position-only may do so at any Senate kiosk by the end of the hearing.

 

Oral testimony: fill out a paper witness card in E1.028 and submit to SFC staff.

 

Oral and written testimony: fill out a paper witness card in E1.028 and submit your witness card and written testimony to SFC staff.

 

Position only: register using the Senate kiosk located in the extension hallways or by going to http://swrs on public-capitol. Kiosk registration will open 30 minutes before the hearing begins.

 

Written testimony only: register your position using the Senate kiosk and then bring 20 copies, with your name on each copy, to E1.028 and submit to SFC staff.

 

The afternoon hearing will reconvene after the Senate adjourns when in session.

Relating to the forgiveness of a loan made under the Paycheck Protection Program for franchise tax purposes.

Relating to state agency and local government information security, including establishment of the state risk and authorization management program and the Texas volunteer incident response team; authorizing fees.

Relating to information technology purchased through the Department of Information Resources.

SB 609         Alvarado               
Relating to the creation of the Texas music incubator rebate program to provide for rebates of a portion of certain taxes collected from certain music venues and promoters of certain music festivals.

Relating to a sales tax refund for sales tax overpayments by certain oil or gas severance taxpayers.

SB 903         Perry                  
Relating to suits for tax refunds.

SB 931         Creighton              
Relating to a franchise tax credit for entities that employ certain students in certain paid internship or similar programs.

Relating to an exemption from the franchise tax and certain filing fees for certain businesses owned by veterans during an initial period of operation in the state.

Relating to participation in the comptroller's contracts for travel services.

Relating to the evaluation and reporting of investment practices and performance of certain public retirement systems.

SB 1605        Huffman                
Relating to directing payment, after approval, of certain miscellaneous claims and judgments against the state out of funds designated by this Act; making appropriations.
