R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Frances Tankersley Messer is celebrating her 100th
  birthday on September 23, 2023, and this occasion provides a
  welcome opportunity for family and friends to express the love and
  affection they hold for her; and
         WHEREAS, The former Frances Tankersley was born in Abilene in
  1923 to William Gaddis Tankersley and Mary Lea Pinegar Tankersley,
  and she grew up with three siblings, Cleon, Randall, and Billye
  Jean; her family relocated to Shamrock, Oklahoma, and then to
  Austin, where she graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and
  was a member of the Red Jackets dance team; she earned a pharmacy
  degree from The University of Texas in 1944, and she became one of
  only a few women working as a pharmacist at the time; and
         WHEREAS, She met her future husband, James Bauerle, when she
  was a student at UT, and the couple were blessed with three
  children; in the early 1950s, Mrs. Messer and her family moved to
  San Antonio, and there she became an active volunteer with local and
  statewide dental auxiliaries and with her church; and
         WHEREAS, Today, Mrs. Messer is the proud matriarch of a
  family that includes her three daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne
  and Jack Pool, Nancy and Grover Campbell, and Janet and Greg
  Anderson, her five grandchildren, Jeff, Logan, Lee, Elizabeth, and
  William, and her three great-grandchildren, Tiegan, Hunter, and
  Henley; a woman of many interests and talents, she is a loyal UT
  football fan and a gifted cook, and she has traveled to numerous
  countries around the world; and
         WHEREAS, Frances Messer is a source of tremendous
  inspiration, and in sharing the experience gained through a century
  of life well lived, she bestows a precious gift of wisdom that
  benefits all who are fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Frances
  Tankersley Messer on her 100th birthday and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Messer as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
