R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Businesses that employ Texans and contribute to the |
|
|
local economy are important components of a prosperous future, and |
|
|
Toshia Ramsey and Nana's Kitchen in Fort Worth are truly deserving |
|
|
of recognition for the positive role they play in their community; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A native of Fort Worth, founder and owner Toshia |
|
|
"Nana" Ramsey discovered her love for southern soul food by cooking |
|
|
with her grandmother as a child, and she went on to receive her |
|
|
formal training at Le Cordon Bleu; under her guidance, Nana's |
|
|
Kitchen has become a landmark soul food restaurant in the |
|
|
Dallas-Fort Worth area; it has been featured in various magazine |
|
|
and news articles and was named the Best Soul Food Restaurant in |
|
|
Texas by Love Food in June 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Partnering with local farmers to promote |
|
|
sustainable, regenerative agriculture, Nana's Kitchen has provided |
|
|
food services to a wide range of organizations, including area |
|
|
YMCAs, churches, and schools, as well as to presidential and |
|
|
mayoral candidates; the restaurant has also worked with the office |
|
|
of State Representative Nicole Collier to facilitate the |
|
|
representative's Annual Veterans Day Breakfast; moreover, |
|
|
Ms. Ramsey is a proud supporter of the AIDS Outreach Center in Fort |
|
|
Worth; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Enterprises that build a record of dependability and |
|
|
longevity enjoy a special degree of esteem, and all those |
|
|
associated with Nana's Kitchen may indeed take great pride in their |
|
|
legacy of service; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor Nana's Kitchen as a |
|
|
noteworthy member of the Fort Worth business community and extend |
|
|
to Toshia Ramsey and her employees sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Nana's Kitchen as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
