R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Agent Joe Mireles of Hidalgo County is being
  recognized as the South Region Officer of the Year by the Texas
  Narcotic Officers Association; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1970, the Texas Narcotic Officers
  Association is a professional training organization for police,
  prosecutors, and other officials who are involved in the
  enforcement of drug laws in the State of Texas; the TNOA South
  Region Officer of the Year award recognizes exceptional skill,
  dedication, and effectiveness in combating drug-related crimes;
  and
         WHEREAS, Agent Mireles has 32 years of experience working in
  law enforcement, and he has specialized in the field of drug
  investigations for more than a decade while working with the
  Houston Police Department, the McAllen Police Department, and the
  Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney's Office - High Intensity
  Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force; from fiscal year 2022
  investigations alone, his accumulated seizures included over 120
  kilograms of cocaine and nearly 300 grams of methamphetamine, as
  well as some $300,000 in U.S. currency; and
         WHEREAS, Through his commitment to the highest standards of
  his profession, Joe Mireles has helped promote public safety in the
  State of Texas, and he is truly deserving of this prestigious honor;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Agent Joe
  Mireles on his selection as the South Region Officer of the Year by
  the Texas Narcotic Officers Association and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Agent Mireles as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
