R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Agent Joe Mireles of Hidalgo County is being |
|
recognized as the South Region Officer of the Year by the Texas |
|
Narcotic Officers Association; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1970, the Texas Narcotic Officers |
|
Association is a professional training organization for police, |
|
prosecutors, and other officials who are involved in the |
|
enforcement of drug laws in the State of Texas; the TNOA South |
|
Region Officer of the Year award recognizes exceptional skill, |
|
dedication, and effectiveness in combating drug-related crimes; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Agent Mireles has 32 years of experience working in |
|
law enforcement, and he has specialized in the field of drug |
|
investigations for more than a decade while working with the |
|
Houston Police Department, the McAllen Police Department, and the |
|
Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney's Office - High Intensity |
|
Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force; from fiscal year 2022 |
|
investigations alone, his accumulated seizures included over 120 |
|
kilograms of cocaine and nearly 300 grams of methamphetamine, as |
|
well as some $300,000 in U.S. currency; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his commitment to the highest standards of |
|
his profession, Joe Mireles has helped promote public safety in the |
|
State of Texas, and he is truly deserving of this prestigious honor; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Agent Joe |
|
Mireles on his selection as the South Region Officer of the Year by |
|
the Texas Narcotic Officers Association and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Agent Mireles as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
