R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kelley McCormick, an assistant criminal district
  attorney in the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney's Office,
  is being recognized as the Prosecutor of the Year by the Texas
  Narcotic Officers Association; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1970, the Texas Narcotic Officers
  Association is a professional training organization for police,
  prosecutors, and other officials who are involved in the
  enforcement of drug laws in the State of Texas; the TNOA Prosecutor
  of the Year award recognizes exceptional skill, dedication, and
  effectiveness in prosecuting drug-related crimes; and
         WHEREAS, Kelley McCormick began his career as a prosecutor
  with the Hidalgo County Criminal DA's Office in 2009, before being
  assigned to the Border Prosecution Unit in the spring of the
  following year; as a border prosecutor, he collaborates with local,
  state, and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Hidalgo
  County Criminal DA's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task
  Force, to develop criminal investigations for state or federal
  prosecution; during the past year, he has evaluated and approved
  multiple orders and search warrants that have led agents to seize
  large quantities of narcotics, drug-related bulk currency, and
  assets derived from illicit drug trafficking activities; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to providing extensive legal support to
  HIDTA agents and other personnel, Mr. McCormick is a certified
  instructor with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and he has
  coordinated thousands of hours of free training on various legal
  topics for members of law enforcement; and
         WHEREAS, Through his commitment to the highest standards of
  his profession, Kelley McCormick has helped promote public safety
  in the State of Texas, and he is truly deserving of this prestigious
  honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Kelley
  McCormick on his selection as the Prosecutor of the Year by the
  Texas Narcotic Officers Association and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. McCormick as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
