R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Alfonso Fuentes of Hidalgo County |
|
|
Precinct 4 and his K9 partner, Max, are being recognized as the |
|
|
Canine Detection Team of the Year by the Texas Narcotic Officers |
|
|
Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1970, the Texas Narcotic Officers |
|
|
Association is a professional training organization for police, |
|
|
prosecutors, and other officials who are involved in the |
|
|
enforcement of drug laws in the State of Texas; the TNOA Canine |
|
|
Detection Team of the Year award recognizes exceptional skill, |
|
|
dedication, and effectiveness in the field of narcotics detection; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Alfonso Fuentes began his career |
|
|
with Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 in 2015, and four years |
|
|
later, he became a task force officer for the Hidalgo County |
|
|
district attorney's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task |
|
|
Force; his many responsibilities have included executing felony or |
|
|
federal arrest warrants, engaging in pursuits, and establishing |
|
|
probable cause; in addition, he and K9 Max have conducted numerous |
|
|
searches of vehicles traveling along highway corridors in Hidalgo |
|
|
County, and in fiscal year 2022, several of their traffic stops led |
|
|
to the disruption of drug trafficking operations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his commitment to the highest standards of |
|
|
his profession, Alfonso Fuentes has helped promote public safety in |
|
|
the State of Texas, and he and Max are truly deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Deputy |
|
|
Constable Alfonso Fuentes and his K9 partner, Max, on their |
|
|
selection as the Canine Detection Team of the Year by the Texas |
|
|
Narcotic Officers Association and extend to them sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success with their important work; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Deputy Constable Fuentes and K9 Max as an expression of |
|
|
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
