Rosalinda Marroquin |
| |
|
|
WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with |
|
|
the passing of Rosalinda Marroquin of Harlingen on July 2, 2023, |
|
|
at the age of 76; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The former Rosalinda Ortiz was born in Progreso |
|
|
Lakes on March 17, 1947, to Victor and Nicolasa Ortiz, and she |
|
|
grew up with the companionship of three brothers and three |
|
|
sisters; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Marroquin enjoyed a rewarding career in |
|
|
education, and during her 25-year tenure at Travis Elementary |
|
|
School in Harlingen, she made a tremendous impact on the lives of |
|
|
her students; she went on to teach in the Houston Independent |
|
|
School District for several years before retiring and returning |
|
|
home to the Valley; she was very active in the Combes community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Marroquin benefited |
|
|
from the love and support of her husband, Arturo, with whom she |
|
|
shared a fulfilling union that spanned nearly four decades; she |
|
|
took great pride in her three children, and with the passing years, |
|
|
her treasured family grew to include eight grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of |
|
|
time will never diminish the joy and love that Rosalinda |
|
|
Marroquin brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
|
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of |
|
|
Rosalinda Marroquin and extend heartfelt condolences to the |
|
|
members of her family: to her husband, Arturo Pizano Marroquin; to |
|
|
her children and grandchildren; to her siblings; to her nieces and |
|
|
nephews; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
|
this day, it do so in memory of Rosalinda Marroquin. |
