R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Rosalinda Marroquin of Harlingen on July 2, 2023, at the
  age of 76; and
         WHEREAS, The former Rosalinda Ortiz was born in Progreso
  Lakes on March 17, 1947, to Victor and Nicolasa Ortiz, and she grew
  up with the companionship of three brothers and three sisters; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Marroquin enjoyed a rewarding career in
  education, and during her 25-year tenure at Travis Elementary
  School in Harlingen, she made a tremendous impact on the lives of
  her students; she went on to teach in the Houston Independent School
  District for several years before retiring and returning home to
  the Valley; she was very active in the Combes community; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, Mrs. Marroquin benefited
  from the love and support of her husband, Arturo, with whom she
  shared a fulfilling union that spanned nearly four decades; she
  took great pride in her three children, and with the passing years,
  her treasured family grew to include eight grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Although she will be deeply missed, the passage of
  time will never diminish the joy and love that Rosalinda Marroquin
  brought into the lives of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the 88th Texas Legislature, 2nd
  Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Rosalinda
  Marroquin and extend heartfelt condolences to the members of her
  family: to her husband, Arturo Pizano Marroquin; to her children
  and grandchildren; to her siblings; to her nieces and nephews; and
  to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns this
  day, it do so in memory of Rosalinda Marroquin.
