A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to designating July as American Pride Month. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 662, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 662.117 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 662.117. AMERICAN PRIDE MONTH. (a) July is American |
|
|
Pride Month to celebrate, memorialize, and increase awareness of |
|
|
the monumental achievements of the United States of America and its |
|
|
citizens. |
|
|
(b) American Pride Month may be regularly observed through |
|
|
appropriate activities in public schools and other places to |
|
|
promote interest in and knowledge of American history. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect on the 91st day after the |
|
|
last day of the legislative session. |
