R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The varsity chorale ensemble of Timberview High |
|
|
School in the Mansfield Independent School District has been |
|
|
invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York on March 17, 2024; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious honor is awarded to only a few |
|
|
choirs each year, and it will be the varsity chorale's first ever |
|
|
concert out of state; during the event, the group will perform |
|
|
Mozart's Requiem; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Timberview High varsity chorale is an auditioned |
|
|
choir for students in the 10th through 12th grades; to become a |
|
|
member of the ensemble, students must demonstrate an advanced level |
|
|
of vocal technique, sight-reading skills, and performance |
|
|
practices; in addition to performing, students compete in contests |
|
|
and learn elements of music theory; the group benefits from the able |
|
|
leadership of Jason Forte, the director of choirs; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through their talent, hard work, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence, the young singers of the Timberview High School varsity |
|
|
chorale have earned their way to an event of enormous prestige, and |
|
|
their achievement is a great credit to Mansfield ISD and a source of |
|
|
pride to their families, friends, and fellow students; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby congratulate the |
|
|
Timberview High School varsity chorale ensemble on being invited to |
|
|
perform at Carnegie Hall in New York and extend to its members |
|
|
sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable event; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the choir as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
