R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Michael Allen Masters |
|
of Austin were deeply saddened by his passing on August 21, 2023, at |
|
the age of 71; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Michael |
|
Masters was born on September 27, 1951, and he graduated from |
|
Chelmsford High School; answering his nation's call to duty, he |
|
joined the U.S. Army in 1976, and he served with distinction for two |
|
decades before concluding his career in 1996; he demonstrated an |
|
unwavering commitment to the military and took great pride in his |
|
service; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Masters was a devoted father to his two |
|
daughters, Cristina and Katie, and over the years, his treasured |
|
family grew to include four grandchildren, Joey, Gabriel, Cameron, |
|
and Hannah; during his leisure hours, he enjoyed playing golf, |
|
watching Star Trek, and spending time with his loved ones; and |
|
WHEREAS, Admired for his warmth and delightful sense of |
|
humor, Michael Masters brightened the world for all who knew him, |
|
and he leaves behind a legacy that his family and friends can |
|
remember with pride; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Michael Allen Masters and extend sincere condolences to the |
|
members of his family: to his daughters, Cristina Masters and her |
|
husband, Andrew Durham, and Katie Boland and her husband, Matthew |
|
Boland; to his grandchildren, Joey and Gabriel Masters-Durham and |
|
Cameron and Hannah Boland; to his former wife, Susan Masters; and to |
|
his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Michael |
|
Masters. |
