R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
|
of Eula Mae Griffith West, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the |
|
age of 69; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Horace Griffith and Sadie Skinner |
|
Griffith, the former Eula Griffith was born in Bayou Chicot, |
|
Louisiana, on March 24, 1954, and she grew up with the companionship |
|
of eight brothers and five sisters; she devoted herself to her faith |
|
at a young age, and she was baptized at Morning Pilgrim Baptist |
|
Church; she graduated from Bayou Chicot High School in Ville |
|
Platte, Louisiana, in 1971; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. West was the proud mother of two children, |
|
Elijah and LaTosha; over the years, she had the pleasure of |
|
welcoming into her family four grandchildren, Mariah, Elijah, |
|
Isiah, and Kingston, and two great-grandchildren, Taliah and |
|
Az'Ryel; and |
|
WHEREAS, Eula West led a life of caring devotion to her loved |
|
ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will forever |
|
live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature, 3rd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory |
|
of Eula Mae Griffith West and extend sincere condolences to the |
|
members of her family: to her son, Elijah M. "Mark" West Sr.; to her |
|
daughter, LaTosha M. West; to her granddaughter, Mariah J. West; to |
|
her grandsons, Elijah West Jr. and his wife, Jada, Isiah West, and |
|
Kingston Ernest Fields-West; to her great-granddaughter, Taliah |
|
Ava West; to her great-grandson, Az'Ryel Ananias Isiah West; to her |
|
sister, Eretta H. Blessett; to her brothers, Uylese Griffith and |
|
Horace Griffith Jr.; to her sister-in-law, Gertie Mae Griffith; and |
|
to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Eula West. |
